NaNoWriMo
I won't be here, really, this month unless I'm procrastinating. So, I actually might be here more than I usually am. I procrastinate a lot.
Wish me luck!

I'm not going to lie to you, I kind of gave up on NaNoWriMo
But anyway, I decided I'm finally going to finish my letters to Hogwarts challenge (it's about damn time).
I'll start tomorrow.
And this probably should have been part of that other, mostly useless, post.
Sorry again.
And thanks for reading.
P.S. I don't really know how to say this but as I said I only have two followers. If you ever see anything on my blog that you find interesting, tell someone about it. I'd love to talk to anyone that has an idea, opinion or just wants to talk. And you can remain anonymous if you wish, for whatever reason.
Just putting it out there.

I've been getting into scrapbooking lately...
But, alas, that's not why I'm here. There's a new software I've come across called MyMemories. It's sort of like a digital scrapbook, but of course it can be printed or you can send it out to be professionally printed and it doesn't only do scrapbooks. You really can make all manner of things with it. I guess I'd call it more of a photo book, because it really can be as simple, or as complicated, as you wish.
I've made a few things so far, to mess around with the program but I'm not going to show them to you as they are not very good and I didn't really have any sort of theme or project in mind. But I will make another post, probably within the next two weeks, to show what I'm working on now, as I'm pretty excited about it.
And it really is easy to use. Click and drag mostly, drag and drop. Just as easy as making a blog post, really.
If you want, you can go check out the website to find out more about it (and they have great examples of cool things there, not to mention templates that you can download to use in your projects). That is right here.
And if you decide you do want to buy it, you can use this code: STMMMS50462. By using the code you get $10 off the software and $10 to use in the MyMemories store.
Some quick instructions to use the code:
- Go to http://mymemories.com/digital_scrapbooking_software
- Click Add to Cart
- Add the above code in the Promotional Code area
- Finish the checkout (you'll then be prompted to make an account to download the software and so you can have the $10 shop coupon)
- To download the software then, go to http://mymemories.com/my_account/downloads, click the link and your download should start
One last thing before I end this post and get back to my NaNoWriMo-ing, I am hosting a GIVEAWAY of the MyMemories Suite! One winner will receive the software for FREE. All you have to do is...[drum roll, please, ahaha]...go to http://mymemories.com/store/photobook_creator and make a quick photo book (this is completely free, though it'll ask you to make an account before you do this). It doesn't have to be over the top or incredible. I just want you to get a taste of the software. When you're done, click the share button and email it to mmcontestentry@gmail.com. Then just leave me a comment on this post telling me that you did so.
- Go to http://mymemories.com/store/photobook_creator

I'm sorry!
I know I've been absent for the past couple days. And I haven't been doing my letters to Hogwarts.
I just wanted to let you know that I'll be starting NaNoWriMo and I may not be very present here for the month of November. If you've ever done NaNo then I hope you'll understand.
I just didn't want anyone to think I had died or anything. I'll still try to be here as often as I can but it won't be my first priority.
Always,
Alyssa

Choosing a plot is going to be harder than I thought
So I have about ten pages of plots that I printed out for NaNoWriMo that starts in, oh a week! And I haven't decided. They all sound interesting and sometimes I think I'll just try one and if I get stuck I'll scrap and try a different one. But I think if I want to succeed at this, I need to commit to one idea. I don't know, I guess I'm just nervous. I really want to do well.
But hey, if I don't do it in November I can always do it another month right? I don't have to wait until November again.
Okay, I can do this. One week.
And then 30 days of literary abandon...

It's a bird. It's a plane. It's NaNo!
Okay so it's October 16 and NaNoWriMo starts November 1. Is anyone starting to get a little nervous? Because I know I definitely am. I was excited (and I still am) but now it seems like it's hurtling at me and I'm really not even sure what story I'm going to write. I really don't even have any base knowledge of my plot. I haven't really decided on one.
Agh I'm freaking out. I should have known I'd have this problem. I always feel like I have to start something and do it straight through and have it all planned out. I have to remind myself that that's not what NaNo is about. It's about writing, not planning what'll happen next but simply writing it down no matter what. I guess this'll definitely be a lesson for me. A lesson I'm definitely looking forward to.
Give me all you got, November. I can take you.
